Garden Route Diving
Guys,
If any of you frequent the garden route, namely Plett, Knysna and Nature's; then please reply to this post. I am down there often from Cape Town, especially Plett, and am in need of dive buddies. I will be down again in November/December , but would like to prepare a dive schedule before then to make the most of it. If you are intersested, then please reply. I have a boat, and if you know how to topman , know the spots, then it would help

garden route
I live in Mosselbay but we basically dive the whole of the garden route some awesome spots around for most species I have a firm favourites in Stillbay and Gouritz/ kanon area as well as Sedgefield wich is way beyond awesome so many reefs and stuff down there it's silly actually as you never end up on the spot where you intended to go to as there is so many interesting things that pop up on the echo.

I totally agree. I am down in Plett often, and never seem to dive the entire Garden Route, as I get attached to one or two spots only. But ALAS, it will change this time I am down at the end of the year.

Hey is anything going on up the East coast? Not the greatest dive conditions here in the Cape at the moment.

Hi guys water and weather was awesome on last weekend and in the beginning of the week 22-25 Nov. But on tuesday the SE was howling again as is usual for this time of the year but with a awesome green colour to it with a definite rising thermocline great for cracker and tassles. Anyways the weekend went off good to everybody who dived it I only got in the water on Sat due to family responsibilities and got some good fish again 3 Tassles, 1 biggish bream and a good john brown. A friend of mine had a awesome dive about 800m from where I was diving in water slightly dirtier than normal. He got a okish cracker of about 8 kg a Catface rockcod of about 6 kg. 2 Bronze bream with a huge sitter of 5 kg!! that is 40 grams less than the existing sa record. and a good tassle as well. anyways water is now totally screwed again as the SE is still pumping and it's raining something I'm not complaining about but the rivers if the rain is as good as earlier this month will turn all shore diving spots to mud.
Guess it's time to hook the boat put them big lungs in and head to deep water in the Sedgefield/Wilderness area for a change. Want to go look for some mean big poensies again. Some awesome reefs in that area we have the same type of reef struct6ure here in the Kleinbrak to Glentana area as well with awesome fish on them but one problem about diving this specific area is WHITES so rather keep my legs and go look for them in another spot.

at last
the weekend of the 08 Jan at last we got a break from the bloody wind and could dive again almost a month of no dives. My secret spot is buggered. All sanded up. Did manage a few fish though. Even saw a youngish Poensie of about 5 kg in one of the inshore gullies. Stilbay produced the goods again as a few friends went there and quite a few good fish were taken.
