Definately does, what size are the files that you upload? I have telkom adsl so additional gigs are R50 so its not too bad.

I tried to keep the size down, but the video became very pixelated and blocky. Maybe I need to try some different codecs or something.

Made this little clip this afternoon, sorry not the best quality... water was murky so I struggled to find the sharks.

Guys,

If any of you know where to obtain custom-made underwater housings, please let me know. My video cam doesnt come with any compatible housings that are readily available. The ones from overseas are more expensive than the camera

Marlin Marine do them, I think they are situated in natal. It is not cheap to have one made though. Have a look at www.marlinmarine.co.za

Fishingtaylor,

I managed to contact them regarding a casing. Got a rough estimate of R6100 for a casing with handles and attachment for speargun. Its tested up to 76m. You were spot on when you said they dont come cheap.

I am going to go the route of doing a proper job of making my own casing. Will probably take a while, but its a helluva lot cheaper and will be just as good if its done right

The site requires membership to download the PDF. However, I just copied each step and made my own word doc. The small thumbnails above, give instructions to each step without having to download the PDF. Let me know what you think of this design. This seems to be the most legit one I could find on the internet

I think it will be fun, but sourcing all the parts is going to be a mission and a half.
I want to use the housing when spearing and on scuba, so I at least want it to handle 30metres drunken

I don't know if I would like to put a my video camera in one like that without thorough testing, pressure is pretty hectic and I am sure it could leak quite easily.

If you are not planning on diving deeper than 10m I would consider saving up and purchasing a canon d10, I have one and it is really a nice camera. I even attach it to my speargun when shorediving areas that are less than 10m.

If you plan on diving deeper, consider a GoPro. They aren't too expensive if you have a mate in London get him to buy one for you because they are a lot cheaper there. They are HD quality and you can get an assortment of mounts for them.

Here is a link to the GoPro website. They have some pretty cool videos, if you look on youtube and do a search on spearfishing with a GoPro you will see what they can do.

A good option is to try get a housing from the US. The exchange rate is crazy, and a lot of online stores are running specials as its the beginning of Winter there
