For all of you that don't know, the galjoen season comes to an end on the 15th of this month. I know I am definitely going to try get a few more dives in before then.

Wow, we seldom get them that size here. I shot the biggest one that I saw this year and it was only a 49cm fish... never weighed it, but I don't think it would have even made it half way to 5kgs . I definitely need to start exploring the garden route!

I guess I will need to wait until next year for that. My goal for the next few months is to get a cracker... yet to get one!

from the end of October to the beginning of January you will find decent fish up until the end of Feb but the main "run" is end October to the middle December.

I can imagine!
Plett had its fair share of big fish back in the day. If you pop into the fishing section of Plett Sports, there is a picture of a Black Marlin that was speared from shore a few decades back off Robberg point

Yes fishingtaylor is right high summer is always a good time to target pelagics in the garden route with a big white or striped marlin also falling to a trolled lure 7 k's offshore a few years back and quite a bit of dorados also coming out saw a small couta last year at Gerrickes too quick to shoot though

A good time to get your gear all sorted and go scout some new areas for crays.
