Recreational Quota Reduction

Post  Fishingtaylor01 on Thu Oct 28, 2010 12:12 am

I got that email from the bluespearos this morning regarding the reduction of the quota. It seems like they try do this every year... I don't know if it needs to be taken seriously this time. I just know that Cape Point will lose out on a lot of income for the crayfish divers, R105 to dive two bugs is a little steep. Anybody with further info please post.

I guess the only clear indication we will get, is when the 15th comes around. The authorities are really slack with ensuring their decisions are transparent

Just heard from someone who got his license today. Apparently only two crayfish per person.

Hi guys,

Everybody who enjoys crayfishing should take a look at this thread. It explains the steps that are going to be taken to try prevent the quota reduction.

Thanks for the link. I'm signed up. Hope these guys can do something about this. It's not about the crayfish for me. Personally I think the stuff is highly overrated. It's a matter of principle. The little guy is systematically targeted to make up for what the poachers have done. And this is not a new dispensation thing. It was like this long before 1994, when ministers and their wives held massive interests in west coast fishing companies, crayfish boats and perlemoen quotas.
