Food b4 diving
Hey guys,
I just wanted to get a general idea of what sort of foods everyone was eating before a dive....
What to eat, how much, how long before a dive to you eat...etc
I usually don’t eat before I dive as food digesting use oxygen and I also get kramps so I usually just drink some energy drink before I dive would like to know what the rest of you do?!?!

That is true, but I never really suffered from craps. I fyou have enough salt in you diet is wil lhelp as well.
If you do suffer, you get a capsule from the Pharm called Cramp Stop, we used it for adventure racing and mountain biking. Works like a charm.

The reason why we need to eat beofre and during long diving sessions
Freedivers requires an astounding amount of energy, much of which is allocated for heat production. Freedivers burn more calories per minute than any other activity other than fast axe chopping.
Alot of divers recommend carbohydrates in the morningbefore the dive, try and eat between a thousand and 2 thousand calories and this is in such foods like cereals, breads, pancakes, fruit eaten with syrup as this will sustain you for up to 3 hours.
