Dive Weight Moulds
Does anyone know where you can get a mould for dive weights and how much they cost?

Re: Dive Weight Moulds
I used to have one out in Pringle Bay at my parents' place. If it's still there you can have it. I used to melt all the sinkers I took out at Aasbank and make weights and sell them to the sport shops. Over the years I've taken out so many weight belts that I now have a lifetime supply. I still make the odd mission in the reserve to dive sinkers just for fun. There are a couple of good spots when the thin layer of sand over them moves out. Also Kalk Bay harbour wall used to be good, but I think it's probably been cleaned out by now. Ask at Jimmy's Sports. They should know where to get a mould.

Thanks, I have a 25lt bucket full of sinkers and I don't fish off the rocks so I would rather make a few weights. I will try Jimmy's, but I have looked all over the net and the only ones that I can find are on wantitall.co.za, but they are a bit steep.

Just had a quick look on the net for interests sake. Didn't realise they go for so much. There's a guy in Bellville that has a big and small mould. I presume the small one is 1kg. He wants R500 each. He reckons you don't get them anywhere. Maybe you've already spoken to him, but here's the number in case. 083 268 8284. I'll find out about mine this afternoon.

Hey Maurice, just found few nice place to dive sinkers in the reserve... if you ever get the urge to go dive some, let me know and I'll show you where I was diving today.

I read your post in the reports. I think I have a good idea where you were, although there are a couple of good holes in that area. I regularly swim that stretch. Not bad for roman when the water warms up. Still waiting for a call from my father to let me know if the mould is lying in his garage.

Fishing taylor, did you manage to get yourself a mould? You will have a business opportunity, seeing that lead weights are so expensive in shops

I did, I have made over 150 dive weights... a very tedious task. I need to wait for bug season to start and then I will dive out some more sinkers.
